Creative writing is a natural flow of words emerging out of an enlightened mind. The enlightenment of mind is the main door through which every writer has to pass in order to have a better view and a positive approach towards any issue. An open mind is all that is needed to ensure the free flow of words with emotions. Creative writing requires a proper formation or transformation of thoughts into words, without killing the emotion. The essence of any issue should be the border line of any written piece. To a writer everything should be inspiring and his writing should be influential.

No matter how good one is at writing, there is one thing that is common for all creative people; the creative block. Creative block is a phase when the writer or any creative person is stuck half-way with his creation. This phase is common for any creative person. Usually people find these creative blocks to be very irritating and frustrating. The reason is simple. It drains out their energy in searching for a particular word, symphony or anything else, and stops them from continuing. Whenever this continuity is halted by a creative block, the result is very frustrating. Creative people usually find it very difficult to tackle these creative blocks. They have found different ways in order to get rid of them. Smoking, drinking wine or addiction to caffeine is some of the one of the many ways that people use in order to pass the hurdle of a creative block. But still, the block remains creating undesired ill effects to one’s mind and body.

Creative blocks can be avoided. There are many ways of avoiding creative block through inspiration. Inspiration is that tool, when used with wisdom can result in a very positive and effective way. Life is all around us. Life is full of inspirations. Life is inspiration. The following steps will help in tackling the chronic problem of a creative block.

People usually write for long hours without taking breaks. This results in creating monotony. Our mind is programmed in such a fashion, that if it is not refreshed from time to time, it stops showing any kind of interest in that particular work. Minds of creative people never get accustomed to the monotonous motions of life. Whenever we are stuck with the problem of a block, it is better to pause a little, take time out. Our brains, like our body get exhausted. The creative block is just its way of telling us that it needs to relax for some time. All we need to do then is pause a little.

Change of environment has been proved to be one the best ways to counter a block. Writers are people who are physically immobile. Their thoughts however are not. It is good at times to just give a break to these thoughts and go out for a brisk walk. Going for a walk helps in relaxing your brain. It releases energy boosters in your brain which helps it to rejuvenate. It helps you better with your thinking and opens the block. Sometimes it is best to walk and listen to the voice of nature. A change in environment takes your mind off the pressure and helps you work properly.

Unable to write, read a book. Reading not only helps you with your vocabulary but also with your thoughts. At times one doesn’t understand the reason for the block. The best thing to do at times like these is to browse through the pages of your favorite book. Or read something that once inspired you. This helps in clearing creative block. Some words have an immediate effect, while others wait for their turn; for the right time. Flipping through the covers of your favorite books will help you find a way to pass through that phase.
