Photoshop is one of the most used programs for design and photo editing. Not only is it great for internet content, but most businesses employ designers to create images for their company.  Every business has a team to create the content that goes on their sites. For designers out there who want to pursue one these outlets, it’s good to have a list of Photoshop shortcuts that will help you speed up your output.

Below is a list of every shortcut for you whether you use Mac or PC.

At the top of the keyboard are the F keys. F5 to F8 have designated tools that they are linked to in Photoshop. F5 is linked to the brushes pallet so you can change your brush size or create a new one. F6 links to the color pallet for easy color changes. F7 links to the layers pallet so you can review the layers of your images. F8 links to the info pallet in case you get lost and need a little help.

The numbers below them are linked to an opacity percentage the corresponds to the number multiplied by 10. 1=10% opacity, 2=20% opacity, 3=30% opacity, and so on. The “0” button is 100% opacity and when accompanied by the ctrl button will fit the image to the screen. The “-” when accompanied with the ctrl button is a zoom out while the “=“ is the zoom in.

The letters also have multiple applications when combined with ctrl or apple key:

  1. Q is Quick Mask as well as Quit when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  2. W is the Magic Wand as well as Close when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  3. E is Eraser as well as Merge Layers when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  4. R is the Blur Tool as well as Rulers when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  5. T is Type as well as Transform when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  6. Y is History brush as well as Proof Colors when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  7. U is the Shape Tool as well as Hue/Saturation when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  8. I is Eyedropper as well as Invert when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac)..
  9. O is Dodge and Open File when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  10. P is Pen and Print when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  11. [ is Brush Size as well as Move Layer Down when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  12. ] is Brush Size as well as Move Layer Up when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  13. A is Path Select as well as Select All when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  14. S is Clone Stamp and Save when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  15. D is Default Colors and Deselect All when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  16. F is Screen Mode and Apply Last Filter when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  17. G is Gradient and Group Layers when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  18. H is the Hand Tool and Show/Hide Extras when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  19. J is the Healing Brush and Copy Active Layer when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  20. K is Slice and Prefs when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  21. L is Lasso and Levels when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  22. ; is Show/Hide Guides when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  23. ‘ is Show/Hide Grids when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  24. Z is the Zoom Tool and Undo/Redo when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  25. X is Toggle and Cut when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  26. C is the Crop Tool and Copy when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  27. V is the Move Tool and Paste when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  28. B is the Brush Tool and the Color Balance Tool when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  29. N is the Notes tool and the New File Tool when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
  30. M is the Marquee Tool and the Curves Tool when combined with ctrl (PC) or the apple key (Mac).
