For most of us, getting scared is a thrilling spine tingling experience. It is not about fear or anxiety, but simply an urge to believe in something that is surreal an d does not exist at all. Remember the last time you rode the roller coaster? You held on tightly to the railings, screamed as though you were going to fall down the sky and then as the shuttle coach slowed down the tracks, you heaved a sigh of relief that it was all over finally. After that you felt invigorated and strangely liberated.
I feel the same when I go to see horror movies or browse through the numerous albums of scary clown pictures. During those few moments, when horror unfolds, and I catch the movie with my tight half-shut eyes, I forget my worries and my many mundane worries. Monsters, demons, ghouls and ghosts add a spirit of adventure and mystery to those few moments we are with them. Getting scared might not necessarily be the best Mantra to de-stress, but it is sure a fun way to look at life and its variety.
